Alia Bhatt’s Tearful Wedding Toast for Her BFF Has the Internet in Tears Too

Some friendships are so deep that even a wedding stage can’t hold back the tears. That’s exactly what happened when Alia Bhatt stood up to speak at her best friend Akansha Ranjan’s wedding — and by the time she was done, half the room was crying with her.

What Happened at the Wedding

Alia Bhatt took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech for Akansha Ranjan, who tied the knot with filmmaker Sharan Sharma in an intimate ceremony. Dressed in an Indo-western saree, Alia began on a light note, describing Akansha as the glue holding their entire friend group together. But as she reflected on their journey and watched Akansha walk down the aisle, her voice began to break, and she struggled to finish her tribute through happy tears.

The emotional wave didn’t stop with her. Cameras caught Karan Johar wiping his eyes, while Athiya Shetty, Vaani Kapoor, and Janhvi Kapoor were all visibly moved in the crowd.
