Tzuyu’s Next Chapter: Is TWICE’s Maknae Really Parting Ways With JYP?

Eleven years is a long time to build a home, and now reports suggest TWICE’s Tzuyu may be ready to step into a new one. A media outlet claimed on July 14 that Tzuyu is leaving JYP Entertainment after over a decade with the label — though notably, she’s expected to keep participating in TWICE’s group activities even if she goes solo on the agency front.

What JYP Has Said So Far

JYP Entertainment’s response was brief but telling — a representative stated that TWICE is still in the process of discussing contract renewals, and that an official update would follow once things are finalized. That’s a fairly standard move for agencies navigating K-pop contract cycles, where individual members’ renewal timelines don’t always align neatly with the group’s collective status.

Tzuyu joining or leaving her agency wouldn’t necessarily mean TWICE is breaking up — plenty of idols have restructured their agency deals while staying fully active with their groups, especially post-world-tour, when contract conversations tend to heat up. TWICE just wrapped their sixth global tour, “THIS IS FOR,” a milestone that often triggers exactly this kind of renewal talk industry-wide.

For now, fans will have to sit tight. Nothing is confirmed beyond JYP’s short statement, and until an official update drops, this remains very much a developing story.
