Idhayam Murali Twitter Reactions: Does Atharvaa’s One-Sided Love Story Win Hearts?

Atharvaa’s most personal film yet is finally out, and X (formerly Twitter) is flooded with first-day verdicts. Idhayam Murali, directed by debutant Aakash Baskaran, hit theatres on July 10, 2026, carrying the weight of a title that once belonged to his late father Murali’s 1991 classic.

Early reactions call it a heartfelt, old-school romance that leans into nostalgia rather than reinventing the genre. Fahadh Faasil’s cameo is getting special love online, with fans calling his screen presence the film’s biggest scene-stealer. Thaman S, returning to acting after two decades, has also caught attention — both for his music and his on-screen role.

Idhayam Murali Twitter Verdict Table

The film’s title is a tribute to Idhayam (1991), the cult Tamil romantic drama that starred Atharvaa’s father Murali in his breakout role, a connection well documented on Wikipedia. That legacy angle is fueling much of the emotional buzz around this release, with longtime fans of the original drawing comparisons between father and son on screen.

Many tweets highlight the film’s central theme — the ache of unreciprocated love — as its strongest asset, with viewers calling specific scenes relatable rather than melodramatic.
