Cellecor Gadgets Limited, an Indian consumer electronics firm listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), has announced plans to establish its inaugural international manufacturing facility in Liberia, Africa. The expansion is supported by a ₹300 crore fundraise through Foreign Currency Convertible Bonds (FCCBs) and aims to address the demand for consumer electronics across the African continent.

The company anticipates the Liberian facility to be operational by the end of 2026, with commercial production commencing shortly thereafter. This move positions Cellecor to enhance its global footprint by localizing manufacturing for the African market.

Cellecor Strategic Expansion into Africa

The new facility in Liberia is slated to produce a range of products, including Smart TVs, Washing Machines, Air Conditioners, Air Coolers, Smartphones, Feature Phones, Tablets, Audio Products, and Small Kitchen Appliances. This represents one of Cellecor’s more significant manufacturing investments outside India.

Africa’s market, with a population exceeding 1.5 billion, is characterized by increasing urbanization and disposable incomes, driving demand for accessible technology products. Cellecor’s strategy to manufacture locally is intended to streamline logistics, leverage favorable trade policies, reduce costs, and build a regional supply chain.

Mr. Ravi Agarwal, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Cellecor Gadgets Limited, noted that Africa presents a growth opportunity comparable to India a decade ago. He stated that establishing a manufacturing base in Liberia will enable the company to produce closer to its customer base, optimize its supply chain, and enhance its competitive position across the continent. Agarwal further emphasized the objective of building a long-term manufacturing and distribution ecosystem in Africa, rather than solely exporting products from India.

Cellecor projects its African operations to generate approximately ₹450 crore in revenue during their first year. This figure is expected to potentially increase to ₹1,500–₹2,000 crore over the subsequent two to three years.

Domestic Targets and Financial Performance

For the fiscal year 2026, Cellecor reported revenues of approximately ₹1,292 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 5.5% and a PAT margin of 3.1%. The company has set a domestic revenue target of ₹1,800–₹2,000 crore for the current financial year and a goal of reaching ₹5,000 crore in revenue from the Indian market within the next three years.

The Liberia project is also projected to create over 200 employment opportunities during its initial phase. This initiative is part of Cellecor’s broader strategy to build a globally diversified consumer electronics business.
