“A Bona Fide Killer” New Stills: The Hunt Begins As Reporters And Police Close In On Legendary Sniper “Kingfisher”

A thrilling new set of stills has just dropped for the upcoming action drama “A Bona Fide Killer,” and the chase is officially on. The drama follows a working mother with a lethal double life, fighting to protect her work-life balance while hiding an explosive secret. Kong Hyo Jin stars as Yu Bo Na, an unassuming sales manager at Durumi Electronics by day — and by night, the legendary sniper known only as “Kingfisher.”

The new images introduce the two teams racing to uncover her identity: the “Not Today” investigative reporting team and Nambu Police Station’s Violent Crimes Unit 2.

A Bona Fide Killer: Meet The Hunters

Reporter Kwon Tae Sung is no stranger to danger, known for chasing exclusive stories head-on. He once covered Kingfisher extensively without either idolizing or demonizing her — but an unexplained incident made him quit reporting altogether, only for her sudden return to throw him back into confusion. His enthusiastic junior, Koo Hae Na, follows him into every unpredictable field situation, building a classic senior-junior dynamic along the way.

On the police side, Lieutenant Lee Dong Jin is an ace detective with a high arrest rate, still carrying the weight of past helplessness from an earlier Kingfisher case. Unable to understand the public’s fascination with the sniper, he’s fully committed to cracking the reopened investigation — with loyal partner Beom Seong Hun backing him up, often breaking dead ends with simple, sharp questions.

“A Bona Fide Killer” premieres July 31 at 9:50 p.m. KST. Until then, catch Jung Jun Won in “VIP” and Lee Sang Yi in “The Village Barber,” both streaming on Viki.

This premise taps into the enduring appeal of the sniper archetype in action fiction, where precision, mystery, and moral ambiguity make for compelling storytelling.
