The mystery is solved! Netflix’s Spanish thriller Oasis delivered a dramatic Season 1 finale that answers the burning question everyone’s been asking: Who kidnapped Celia? The answer shocked fans—it was Detective Sandra Ortega herself, caught in a web of corruption, drug trafficking, and betrayal. Here’s the complete breakdown of everything that happened.

The Shocking Twist: Ortega is the Culprit

The finale opens with Detective Sandra Ortega exposed as both Celia’s kidnapper and a co-conspirator in a drug-smuggling operation running through the Oasis resort. Dani and Helena’s investigation tracked a cigarette butt marked with a dragon icon—the kidnapper’s calling card—back to Ortega, who has mysteriously disappeared from the police station.

When Dani grows suspicious of Luis, the hotel owner, he discovers a walkie-talkie identical to ones found at crime scenes. This pivotal clue suggests Luis is more involved in the conspiracy than anyone realized.

Luis’s Criminal Confession

In a shocking flashback, Luis admits his financial desperation drove him to drug trafficking. The hotel renovation bankrupted him, leaving him no choice but to partner with criminals. When his daughter Celia discovers the operation and threatens to call police, chaos erupts. Ortega chases Celia, knocking her unconscious and dragging her to the heating room, where she’s held captive. A broken vase from her escape attempts becomes crucial evidence later discovered by investigators.

The Climactic Confrontation

The finale peaks when Dani and Helena intercept Luis at an exchange meeting with Ortega. What should’ve been a ransom swap turns violent—Ortega shoots Luis and attempts to murder both heroes by driving them off a cliff. But they manage to escape, retrieve Celia, and ultimately neutralize Ortega as police arrive.

Secondary Stories Resolve

While the main mystery gets solved, subplots wrap up satisfyingly. Leo confesses her affair to Jon (not Maca), they reconcile. Sofia and Maca reach truce. Oliver discovers Laura’s grandmother has terminal cancer and is selling the business for inheritance purposes—he keeps the secret in exchange for her blessing of their relationship. These character arcs prevent the finale from feeling one-dimensional.

Will There Be Season 2?

All primary plot threads conclude, suggesting a definitive ending. However, executive producer Gema R. Neira hasn’t ruled out continuation: “We would love to do more seasons. We’ve created characters with more stories to tell, but we also know a mystery story needs resolution.”
