Just days after FIFA revealed details about the official FIFA World Cup 2026 album and squad, fans are convinced that BTS is secretly working on an official tournament song. The speculation has reached fever pitch across social media, with many pointing to the group’s history with FIFA and their ongoing 2026 FESTA celebrations as major clues.
The buzz began when FIFA announced plans for a star-studded official album to accompany the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Given BTS’s global influence and their iconic 2018 performance of “One Dream” at the Russia World Cup opening ceremony, fans believe lightning could strike twice.
BTS x FIFA World Cup: Timeline of Moments
| Year | Event | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| 2018 | Performed “One Dream” at World Cup Opening | Global breakthrough moment |
| 2022 | “Permission to Dance” used in FIFA campaign | Massive fan campaign |
| 2026 | FESTA + FIFA Album Announcement | Current speculation peak |
| June 2026 | Expected FIFA Official Album Reveal | Possible BTS track? |
The timing feels almost too good. BTS recently launched their 2026 FESTA with all seven members finally together post-military service. Combined with their record-breaking “ARIRANG” Billboard 200 run and j-hope’s “Killin’ It Girl” hitting 100M views during FESTA season, the hype is at an all-time high.
Many fans have noticed subtle hints dropped during FESTA live sessions and social media posts that seem to reference football and global unity — themes perfectly aligned with a World Cup anthem. While nothing is confirmed yet, the internet is running wild with theories.
This speculation adds even more excitement to an already massive year for BTS. It comes alongside our coverage of their dominant May 2026 Star Brand Reputation ranking, strong chart performances, and the emotional reunion FESTA we’ve been following closely.

Conclusion
Whether or not BTS actually drops a World Cup 2026 song, the sheer excitement and theories show just how powerful their connection with fans remains. A new FIFA anthem from BTS would be the perfect full-circle moment after their 2018 performance. For now, we’re happily living in the rumor era — and it feels electric. What do you think — will we get that BTS World Cup song?
