Dean, Sam & Castiel Are Back — And This The Boys Outtake Is the Supernatural Reunion Nobody Knew They Needed

If you grew up watching the Winchester brothers hunt demons every Thursday night, brace yourself. Because the most unexpectedly emotional two minutes of 2026 just came from a behind-the-scenes outtake of The Boys — and it has sent the entire Supernatural fandom into a full-blown meltdown.

What Happened? The Outtake Explained

In a newly released outtake from The Boys Season 5, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins return as Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, and Castiel to debate what they should do about Homelander — breaking completely from their actual The Boys characters in one rogue, glorious take.

The scene opens with Dean and Sam arguing over Homelander. Padalecki, speaking as Dean, is irritated that Homelander is “taking Chuck’s name in vain.” The clip then launches into comedic territory as Dean gets increasingly upset at the prospect of certain content being banned — including one of Dean’s longest-standing running jokes from Supernatural.

Misha Collins reverts entirely to Castiel’s signature dry delivery, while at one point someone shouts “Call Dad,” prompting Sam to go into full freak-out mode — a direct throwback to classic Supernatural family drama.

Why Fans Are Completely Losing Their Minds

The blooper is a massive hit with fans, with reactions including “I actually got so emotional just watching this,” “I have cried,” and “Straightup teleported me to my angsty teen days.”

What makes it even more bittersweet is what happens in the actual episode. Ackles’ Soldier Boy and Collins’ Malchemical fight Padalecki’s Mister Marathon, who is ultimately killed by Homelander — exactly the kind of crushing moment one would expect from The Boys, making the warm, funny blooper feel all the more precious by contrast.

The cast reportedly found it easy to slip back into their old roles given how long they worked together — and the outtake has already been described as one of the most hilarious behind-the-scenes moments of The Boys Season 5 so far.
