What Is Chercheurs d’Or About?

The series follows Stella Rivière (Audrey Fleurot), a risk expert at an insurance firm who lives a perfectly controlled, regimented life — until everything is turned upside down.

Her mother is kidnapped by abductors demanding the legendary treasure of the famous pirate La Buse, hidden somewhere on the island. Stella must confront her painful family past — a treasure that already drove her father to madness. With no other option, she teams up with carefree local Liam (Guillaume Labbé) to go on the adventure of her life. Stéphane Larue whats-on-netflix

Think: a reluctant heroine, cursed pirate gold, a kidnapped mother, and breathtaking island landscapes. This one is going to be wild.

The Star Power Behind It

After the runaway success of the light procedural High Potential (HPI), which concluded in 2025 to record ratings, Audrey Fleurot has cemented herself as one of the most recognizable and beloved faces on French television. And she’s not just starring here — she’s executive producing too, showing serious creative investment in the project.

The supporting cast includes familiar French names: Thierry Lhermitte, Marc Riso, Ludmila Mikaël, Marie Payet, Youssef Hajdi, Damien Dennemont, and Clément Moreau — all directed by Philippe Lefebvre. AlloCiné

On the creative side, the show is co-created by Antonin Martin-Hilbert (Criminal France) alongside Florent Meyer (L’Île aux 30 Cercueils), with a writing team that includes Anaïs Carpita, Thalia Rebinsky, and Philippe Lefebvre. whats-on-netflix

Netflix subscribers have already seen Fleurot in the acclaimed period drama The Bonfire of Destiny, and she is also set to appear in The Countess of Monte Cristo — a fresh female-led adaptation of the cult novel — expected for a major launch on TF1 and then Netflix next fall. whats-on-netflix
