Filing for Love Is the K-Drama You Didn’t Know You Needed This Weekend

If your weekend watch list is looking a little empty, allow us to fix that. Filing for Love, tvN’s latest romantic comedy, kicked off with two episodes that managed to be funny, relatable, and genuinely exciting — all at once. Here’s why you should add it to your must-watch list right now.

What Is Filing for Love About?

Starring Shin Hae Sun as Joo In Ah and Gong Myoung as Noh Ki Jun, the K-drama follows the everyday lives of the audit team at one of South Korea’s biggest conglomerates — blending sharp office humor with the slow burn of enemies-to-lovers romance.

It’s an office rom-com, yes — but not the kind you’ve seen before.

4 Reasons the Premiere Already Has Us Hooked

1. It Makes Office Life Actually Interesting

Rather than relying on clichés, the show delivers an honest and subtle portrait of what it’s truly like to be an office worker — people who spend more time at work than at home, who build a family among colleagues, and who naturally fall into both camaraderie and conflict. It’s grounded, human, and surprisingly moving.

2. The Power Dynamic Is Flipped — In the Best Way

Unlike many rom-coms where the man holds the power, here it’s the woman at the top of the pyramid. Joo In Ah not only demotes Ki Jun to an underperforming team but makes clear he won’t be leaving any time soon — especially after witnessing what looks like an inappropriate encounter involving him. It’s a refreshing twist on the classic formula.

3. The Comedy Is Actually Funny (Not Cringe)

Both Shin Hae Sun and Gong Myoung deliver brilliant comedic timing — especially in physical comedy. Their ability to turn a simple situation into a hilarious scene feels effortless, and crucially, it never crosses into forced or cringeworthy territory.

4. There Are Mysteries Brewing Beneath the Surface

Ki Jun receives an anonymous message accusing In Ah of having an improper relationship with a married coworker — setting up his mission to uncover the truth, while also risking getting too close for comfort. The intrigue adds real depth beyond the laughs. soompi
