Why Nobody Wants This Cast Is Such a Big Deal?

Let’s talk about these additions for a moment, because they’re genuinely exciting. Sarah Silverman as a warm, quirky rabbi teaching Intro to Judaism is perfect casting — she brings exactly the right blend of irreverence and heart the role demands. Andrew Rannells (Book of Mormon, Girls) as Joanne’s conversion class nemesis? That conflict writes itself. And Keyla Monterroso Mejia, who broke out in Abbott Elementary, as a woman hilariously hunting for a Jewish husband in the same class as Joanne is the kind of comedic tension that great rom-coms thrive on.

The guest cast adds further depth. Erin Foster — who also created the show — playing Nicole as essentially a cautionary alternate version of Joanne is a brilliantly meta choice. Poorna Jagannathan (Deli Boys) and Avan Jogia (Our Hero) round out what is shaping up to be the show’s richest supporting ensemble yet.

A Quick Refresher on the Show

Nobody Wants This stars Kristen Bell as Joanne, an agnostic sex podcaster, and Adam Brody as Noah, a charming devout rabbi. The show was created by Erin Foster and became one of Netflix’s biggest romantic comedy hits, with Season 1 landing in September 2024 and Season 2 following in October 2025. Season 3 is currently filming and expected to return in 2026.
