Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary Crushes India Box Office — Hits ₹50 Crore in Just 13 Days With a Stunning 10% Mid-Week Spike!

Ryan Gosling is officially box office gold in India. His sci-fi adventure Project Hail Mary has defied the usual weekday slump and pulled off something rare — a 10% spike on its 2nd Tuesday, adding ₹2.50 crore in a single day. For a Hollywood film in India, that kind of mid-week momentum is seriously impressive.

The film’s second week has already racked up ₹20.25 crore in just five days, with the full second week likely to close around ₹24–25 crore. That puts the cumulative two-week gross just under the ₹50 crore gross mark — a “Clean Hit” verdict at the Indian box office.’

What Makes This Film Such a Crowd-Puller?

Project Hail Mary is based on the bestselling novel by Andy Weir (the author behind The Martian). The story follows Ryland Grace — a middle-school science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship with no memory, slowly piecing together a mission that could save Earth. Along the way, he befriends an alien named Rocky. It’s the kind of emotionally rich, mind-bending sci-fi that Indian audiences have been hungry for. The film’s worldwide cumulative has crossed USD 421 million, signalling that its India run is very much part of a global success story.

What’s Next for Project Hail Mary in India?

The film currently enjoys a free run at Indian multiplexes until Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla arrives. That window gives it enough breathing room to push past ₹65 crore, with a final theatrical run potentially crossing ₹75 crore gross — which would make it one of the biggest Hollywood sci-fi earners in India in recent years.
