Over the last few days, news came out about Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun having signed a new contract with the Gunners. The extension has been signed till 2025, and the agreement between the two parties was the conclusion of a long-drawn-out phase of negotiations.
The main hindrance for the player was not just about money but about the project at the club too. Edu Gaspar, the sporting director of Arsenal was key to find the agreement and to convince the player with Mikel Arteta also playing a part in the negotiations.
Now that the signing has been completed for four years, the player will not go out on loan, and will be holding out for a first team opportunity.Â
As confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on the Here We Go podcast, Arsenal are going in for a right back this summer since their first team choice, Hector Bellerin has chances to leave the club. Achraf Hakimi has been the main name rumoured to be on the radar of Arsenal, and while the London club are interested in him, Inter want to keep Hakimi.
They paid Real Madrid a sum worth €45 million only a year ago, and pay Hakimi a salary of €4-4.5 million per season, hence any negotiations with the Nerazzurri are difficult.
