Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Shatters Global Box Office With $147 Million Haul

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has crossed $147 million worldwide, and it’s solidifying Ranveer Singh’s reputation as a bankable action hero. The blockbuster has now surpassed Baahubali 2’s opening weekend performance globally, making it one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever released. This isn’t just a box office win—it’s a major moment for Hindi cinema’s global reach and Ranveer’s career.

How ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ Dominated Global Markets

Dhurandhar: The Revenge opened with massive numbers across North America, the UK, Australia, and Southeast Asia. Ranveer‘s action-packed revenge drama connected with both diaspora audiences and mainstream multiplexes. The opening weekend alone brought in $52 million internationally—a record for any Hindi film’s first three days outside India.

Domestic collections hit $95 million, while international territories added $52 million. That split tells you something important. Hindi cinema’s global appeal isn’t just nostalgia or cultural pride anymore—it’s real box office power. Our guide to The King’s Warden’s box office record showed similar crossover success, but Dhurandhar: The Revenge has completely blown past those numbers.

Breaking Down The $147 Million Milestone

Here’s what’s really happening: Dhurandhar: The Revenge now ranks second only to Dangal in lifetime worldwide earnings for Hindi cinema. That’s extraordinary. The film’s staying power—still pulling in $8-12 million weekly after three weeks—suggests it’ll have a much longer run than typical action movies.

What made it work? Ranveer’s shift into a hardened anti-hero role. The film’s technical quality. And honestly, audiences are hungry for spectacle-driven stories. According to Sony’s box office strategy, studios are placing huge bets on IP-driven franchises. Dhurandhar: The Revenge proves Hindi cinema can play at that level.

The real question now: will this momentum stick around? Studios have already greenlit sequels. Ranveer’s asking price has jumped 40%. And international distributors are hunting for the next big Hindi blockbuster.

What This Means For Hindi Cinema

This fundamentally changes how people talk about Indian film exports. Hollywood studios will be paying attention. OTT platforms are already negotiating for post-theatrical windows—Netflix reportedly offered $45 million for exclusive streaming rights, though the production turned it down to keep the film in theaters longer.

This success validates taking risks. Ranveer’s earlier films weren’t action-focused. Casting him in a revenge thriller was a bold move. It worked spectacularly (according to VentureBeat AI).
