April 2026 Removals: The Must-Watch Highlights

Shows & Movies Worth Knowing About

Despicable Me (2010) & Despicable Me 2 (2013) — The animated franchise that introduced the world to Minions. Gru’s villain-turned-hero arc remains one of the most charming in animation history. Perfect for a family movie night before April 1.

Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) — Ryan Gosling teaching Steve Carell how to live again, with Emma Stone stealing every scene she’s in. One of the best romantic comedies of the 2010s, and it holds up beautifully on rewatch.

District 9 (2009) — Neill Blomkamp’s debut film is still one of the most intelligent sci-fi movies ever made. An alien refugee crisis used as a razor-sharp apartheid allegory. Genuinely unforgettable and leaving April 1.

Zero Dark Thirty (2012) — Kathryn Bigelow’s gripping dramatisation of the decade-long hunt for Osama Bin Laden. Controversial, intense, and brilliantly crafted — an Oscar-winning political thriller that deserves a rewatch.

Ford v Ferrari (2019) — Matt Damon and Christian Bale in a roaring true story of the legendary 1966 Le Mans race. Won two Academy Awards and remains one of the best sports dramas of recent years. Leaving April 1 — don’t miss it.

Free Solo (2018) — Alex Honnold’s attempt to free-climb El Capitan with no ropes. Watching it feels almost physically impossible — your palms will sweat. The Oscar-winning documentary is a pure adrenaline experience.

Cast Away (2000) — Tom Hanks marooned on a desert island for four years with only a volleyball for company. Robert Zemeckis’s survival epic is one of the great one-man performances in cinema. Leaving April 7.

Black Sails (Seasons 1–4) — The Black Sails prequel to Treasure Island features Captain Flint fighting to protect New Providence Island from the British Empire. Think Game of Thrones on the high seas — stunning production design, complex politics, and a brilliant cast. Leaving April 17.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024) — The most recent entry in the Bad Boys franchise, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in full action-comedy mode. It only arrived in 2024, making this a surprisingly fast departure. Leaving April 8.

Queen of the South (Seasons 1–5) — Five seasons of Teresa Mendoza rising from a cartel target to a drug kingpin in her own right. Gripping narco-drama with a powerful female lead — all five seasons leave April 7.
