Intel’s upcoming Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs are everywhere in the media and it seems this is the least secret launch Intel ever had. Now, to continue this momentum, even before the official availability date, the 8-core flagship from Intel has been overclocked at an insane 7GHz!!
Yes, this 14nm++++++ processor but with a new CPU design has been overclocked to an insane 7047.88 MHz and has been spotted by @TUM_APISAK.
As we already know, the Intel Core i9-11900K features 8 cores and 16 threads, which will result in an L3 cache of 16MB and an L2 cache of 4MB. The CPU’s base frequency is 3.5 GHz, but it can feature a maximum boost clock of 5.2 GHz, while the all-core boost frequency will be limited to 4.8 GHz.
We do not know how this incredible 7GHz barrier has been reached and what cooling has been used to do so, however, at that level the CPU should be a bit unstable, so apart from CPU-Z we have no additional info about this incredible overclocking.
