The Chance Meeting That Changed Everything

According to Rosé’s podcast appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy, the 27-year-old K-pop star was navigating the complex world of solo contracts when fate intervened. After spending seven years with YG Entertainment, she was ready to take control of her solo career.

“I was trying to look for a label and everything. But before that I was learning about how to protect myself, what does everything mean,” Rosé explained. At a party she attended in the U.S., she crossed paths with the Blank Space hitmaker, and what happened next was pure serendipity.

“She Pulled Me Aside”

Taylor Swift, known for her advocacy around artist rights and music ownership, didn’t hesitate to help. “We were chatting and I explained why I was out in the U.S. Then I was like, ‘Oh, I was kinda struggling with this.’ She’s like, ‘Ask me anything,’ and she pulled me aside,” Rosé recalled.

The conversation proved invaluable. Swift, who famously re-recorded her entire catalog to own her masters, shared hard-earned wisdom about navigating the music industry, protecting creative rights, and making informed decisions about label deals.

From Guidance to Grammy Nominations

The mentorship paid off spectacularly. Rosé signed with The Black Label, released her album Rosie, and delivered the global smash hit APT. featuring Bruno Mars. The song dominated charts worldwide and earned her three Grammy nominations for 2026.
