2020 was the best year for Apple’s tech

According to MacRumours, Apple has reported that it received strong demand for its Mac during the pandemic year. It is believed that Apple is set to report a record year for Mac shipments in 2021. The demand was raised sky high due to Apple’s own silicon, the ARM-based M1 chip.

We have seen the iPhone maker enjoying big success during 2021, as its devices have been crowned as champions in the performance segment. But it is also being reported that Apple’s sales will still improve further. With the upcoming launch of its new versions of Macbook Pro models, with 14-inch and 16-inch screens, the demand will still surge even high.

The major attraction point is that Apple’s magnificent M1 chip itself is getting an update this year. Last year, Apple said it would be fully transitioning to its in-house chips within the next two years, dropping Intel chips completely. In 2020, the company brought the Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, and Mac Mini based on the new M1 chip.

But the new upcoming devices will have new and more powerful chips supporting them, and we hear reports that the company will begin mass production of the new Macbooks based on the M1 chip in the second half of the year.

Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, had said that the new Macbook Pro models would have brighter displays and mini-LED backlighting.

On top of that, Apple will be bringing many of the ports back with the newer design. We are expecting an HDMI port, SD card reader, and MagSafe charging port. The company will also retain the OLED Touch Bar, which it has been putting on its Macbook Pro models for a few years now.
