What Makes CCL Special?
Unlike professional cricket leagues, CCL merges entertainment industry glamour with sporting competition. Film stars who normally grace silver screens showcase their athletic abilities, creating unique fan engagement opportunities. The tournament originated from Telugu cinema’s 2003 friendly matches, formally launching in 2011 with brand ambassador Salman Khan.
The league operates under founder Vishnu Vardhan Induri’s vision, bringing together India’s diverse cinema industries on a single platform. Recent partnership with Invenio Origin aims to scale CCL globally, establishing it as a premier entertainment-sports fusion event.
Previous seasons featured memorable performances from celebrities including Sonu Sood, Jimmy Shergill, and numerous regional cinema icons. The T20 format ensures fast-paced action perfect for weekend entertainment, with double-header matchdays maximizing fan engagement.
