Hyundai Motor Group unveiled its transformative AI Robotics Strategy at CES 2026 under the theme “Partnering Human Progress,” marking a pivotal shift from hardware-driven robotics to adaptive, AI-powered systems designed to amplify human potential in manufacturing and beyond.

Three Foundational Partnerships
The strategy is built on three core partnerships: partnering humans with co-working robots to handle hazardous and repetitive tasks in manufacturing, integrating Boston Dynamics’ expertise with Hyundai’s manufacturing scale to create an end-to-end AI robotics value chain, and collaborating with global AI leaders including NVIDIA and Google DeepMind to accelerate humanoid development.
Boston Dynamics Atlas Robot Debut
| Robot | Details |
|---|---|
| Atlas Humanoid | Product version publicly debuted at CES 2026 |
| Deployment Timeline | Testing begins at HMGMA by 2028 for sequencing tasks |
| Advanced Operations | Assembly work starting by 2030 |
| Training Facility | Robot Metaplant Application Center (RMAC) opens 2026 |
| Purpose | Performs higher-risk tasks to reduce human burden |
Atlas represents a breakthrough in human-robot collaboration, trained in authentic factory conditions at the RMAC facility where robots learn through real-world operations before deployment at Software-Defined Factory locations.

Group Value Network Integration
Hyundai’s integrated approach leverages affiliates across the manufacturing ecosystem. Hyundai Motor and Kia provide manufacturing infrastructure and production data, Hyundai Mobis develops high-performance actuators, and Hyundai Glovis optimizes logistics and supply chain management, creating a comprehensive robotics-as-a-service offering from development through maintenance.
The company’s robots are already operational globally, with Spot performing safety monitoring in over 40 countries and Stretch unloading more than 20 million boxes in warehouses since 2023.
MobED Wins Best of Innovation
Hyundai Motor received the Best of Innovation Award in Robotics at CES 2026 for MobED, its autonomous mobility robot platform. The MobED Basic and MobED Pro models offer tailored solutions for logistics, delivery, and autonomous navigation, with mass production beginning in Q1 2026.
Exhibition Experience
Visitors to CES 2026 can experience interactive demonstrations of Atlas, Spot, and MobED at Hyundai’s booth (Las Vegas Convention Center, January 6-9), showcasing real-world applications in work environments and daily life.
