An update on Erling Haaland’s future at Dortmund

Mino Raiola was talking about ten clubs previously that had the power to sign Erling Haaland. Names were mentioned last week, with many of the obvious ones making the list. However, just because they have the capacity to pay the hefty transfer fees doesn’t mean they are in the race for the player. 

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio made it clear that no one is really close to signing Haaland. The deal will be decided in the summer. Dortmund will fight to keep the player who is happy at the club right now.

Bayern Munich will not be in the race for Haaland. He wants to start matches and Bayern are very happy with Lewandowski who will make Haaland stick to the bench. He isn’t content with that and shouldn’t be either, considering the unbelievable talent that the Norwegian wonderkid has. 

He was close to joining Juventus and Leipzig during the winter transfer window of the 19/20 season, but then joined Dortmund. There is no rush for the player to leave the Westfalenstadion right now, but one day he will join another club that has the potential to compete at the highest level and win silverware every season. 

He has a release clause €75 million which comes into play starting from the summer of 2022. Despite that, there are chances to see him leave this summer if they are not in the Champions League next season. Big clubs are trying to move but the situation will be dangerous if they are not in the top four when the season is said and done. 

He is one of the best professionals and is always focused on matters on the pitch. He is fighting for Dortmund to be in the Champions League because he is happy at the club and is loyal to them right now. But the transfer race is bound to be an interesting one when it does indeed arrive.
