What Makes Burnout Syndrome Special?

The Story

Burnout Syndrome (ภาวะรักคนหมดไฟ / Phawa Rak Khon Mot Fai) follows Jira, a recently unemployed artist struggling with severe burnout after losing his dream job. Seeking escape from his exhaustion, he wanders into a quiet bar called Burnout Bar, where he meets Pheem, a warm and understanding IT specialist whose gentle presence feels healing.

Just as Jira starts finding comfort with Pheem, he accepts an unusual job offer from Kor Korrawick, a mysterious and socially anxious startup CEO who despises people. Kor hires Jira to serve as “Mr. K”—his public face for business dealings—under one condition: Kor will pose for Jira’s art in return.

This arrangement creates a complicated love triangle as boundaries between professional and personal blur. Jira must navigate his growing feelings for both men while confronting questions about identity, healing, and what it truly means to find yourself when you’re emotionally depleted.

The Cast

Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat plays Jira, the burned-out artist at the story’s center. Gun’s ability to portray vulnerability and emotional exhaustion makes his performance particularly compelling.

Off Jumpol Adulkittiporn stars as Kor, the enigmatic CEO with social anxiety whose attraction to Jira complicates their professional relationship. Off brings intensity and magnetic presence to this complex character.

Dew Jirawat Sutivanichsak portrays Pheem, the kind IT specialist who becomes Jira’s emotional anchor. Dew’s portrayal of gentle strength and warmth provides perfect contrast to Off’s intensity.

Supporting cast includes Thor Thinnaphan as Ben, Emi Thasorn Klinnium as Ing, and AJ Chayapol as Mawin, who add depth through friendships and tensions surrounding the main trio.

Story So Far: Episodes 1-3 Recap

In the first three episodes, viewers have witnessed Jira’s emotional journey begin. His first assignment as Mr. K involves attending an event where he successfully closes a deal with a client named Mr. Thames despite several awkward encounters that test his acting abilities.

Meanwhile, Kor reveals deeper struggles when he speaks with a psychiatrist about chronic insomnia and difficulty connecting with others. However, he admits that Jira is surprisingly easy for him to understand, hinting at their special connection.

Pheem faces his own crisis when Kor reveals that the entire IT department will soon lose their jobs, adding pressure to his already challenging life. After a particularly exhausting day for both, Jira and Pheem meet again at Burnout Bar, where Pheem kisses Jira, marking a significant shift in their relationship.

The narrative steadily expands from simple introductions into deeper exploration of the emotional and professional tensions pulling Jira in different directions.
