Amazon Alexa+ Scene Jump Feature Now Live on Fire TV

Amazon has launched an AI-powered scene jump feature for Alexa+ on Fire TV, letting users skip directly to specific movie moments on Prime Video using natural language commands—no searching or fast-forwarding required.

Alexa+ Scene Jump Feature Details

How Scene Jump Works

The AI-powered feature understands natural language descriptions of movie scenes by analyzing scene descriptions, character names, and memorable quotes. Simply say commands like “Alexa, jump to the scene in Red One where Santa flies over the city” and Fire TV starts playing that exact moment instantly.

Example Commands That Work:

• “Jump to the card scene in Love Actually“
• “Jump to the scene where Deloris Jordan says ‘a shoe is just a shoe until my son steps into it'”
• “Jump to the scene when John McClane says ‘come out to the coast, we’ll get together, have a few laughs'”
• “Jump to the Ozdust ballroom scene in Wicked with Glinda”
• “Jump to the scene in Mamma Mia where Sophie sings ‘Honey Honey'”
• “Jump to the boulder chase scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark“

The technology eliminates the frustrating experience of manually scrubbing through timelines or searching for specific scenes—a common pain point when trying to share favorite movie moments with friends or revisit iconic sequences.

What Makes This Revolutionary

Traditional scene navigation requires remembering timestamps, fast-forwarding while watching the screen, or using chapter markers (when available). Alexa+ removes this friction entirely by understanding context and intent, transforming voice commands into precise playback positions.

Content Coverage: The feature currently works with thousands of Prime Video movie titles featuring tens of thousands of indexed scenes. Amazon plans to expand to TV shows soon, dramatically increasing utility for binge-watchers who want to revisit specific episodes or moments without scrolling through entire seasons.

Requirements: Movies must be included with Prime membership or previously purchased/rented from Prime Video. The feature won’t work with third-party streaming apps like Netflix or Disney+ integrated into Fire TV.

User Experience Benefits

For movie enthusiasts, this feature transforms Fire TV into an intelligent content navigator. Need to show someone that one scene from The Accountant 2? Just describe it naturally instead of fumbling with remotes. Want to rewatch your favorite Wicked musical number? Ask Alexa and it starts playing immediately.

The technology represents Amazon’s push toward more intuitive, conversational interfaces that reduce the gap between thinking about content and consuming it—particularly valuable as streaming libraries grow exponentially and manual navigation becomes increasingly cumbersome.
