Erling Haaland has managed to establish himself as one of, if not the single best young talent in the whole wide world. The Norwegian joined Borussia Dortmund only a year ago and has managed to become their most consistent and effective player on the pitch in just over 12 months.
Clubs all across Europe are hence, keeping an eye on the striker to possibly secure his services in the future. The situation could escalate in the summer of 2021 as well, according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter. Dortmund will be receiving important bids in the summer for Erling Haaland despite a release clause in his contract which comes into effect from 2022.
In the modern world where money talks in football above most other factors, Dortmund could be forced to accept a big-money bid if they fail to qualify for the Champions League through the Bundesliga.
And chances of that happening can actually be questioned due to their shaky performances in recent times that have raised cause for concern. Moreover, the reunion with Marco Rose next season could also convince the Golden Boy to stay.
The authorities at the Westfalenstadion have consistently denied that there is a release clause in Haaland’s contract in 2021 and that the one that does exist only comes into place next year. It is also well worth noting that the player is actually happy at the club and wants to stay for the time being.
