Perplexity’s Comet Browser Launches on Android With AI Power

The AI browsing revolution has arrived on mobile! Perplexity has launched its Comet browser for Android, bringing powerful AI-assisted browsing to smartphones. This first-of-its-kind AI-native mobile browser integrates intelligent search, voice commands, cross-tab summaries, and built-in ad blocking—challenging Chrome’s dominance with smarter, context-aware features.

Perplexity’s Comet Browser Launches on Android

After debuting on desktop in July for Perplexity Max subscribers, Comet now reaches millions of Android users worldwide. The mobile version mirrors desktop capabilities while adding mobile-specific features like enhanced voice mode. This strategic Android-first approach responds to strong demand from carriers and OEMs seeking to integrate Comet into their devices, with iOS launch confirmed for coming days.

Comet Browser: Key Features and Capabilities

How It Changes Mobile Browsing

Comet functions as an “agentic browser” that performs multi-step tasks autonomously. Instead of just fetching content like traditional search engines, it interprets your intent, gathers information from multiple sources, and executes chained actions. For example, you can ask it to “buy me a high-quality, comfortable office chair” and watch it research, compare options, and present recommendations.

The voice mode makes mobile browsing hands-free—chat with your assistant to find information across all open tabs. The cross-tab summarization feature is particularly powerful, synthesizing content from multiple pages simultaneously rather than just the active window.

Perplexity acknowledges security concerns around AI agents and has committed to rethinking browser security from the ground up. Currently, bookmark and history syncing between mobile and desktop isn’t available but will roll out within weeks.
