What Happened in Episodes 3-4?

The last two episodes delivered heartbreak when Ha-gyeong discovered that Do-yeong—the twin brother she thought she’d been reconnecting with—died a year ago. Do-ha had been impersonating his brother to stay close to her, a revelation that shattered their fragile reconciliation.

After confronting Do-ha about his elaborate deception, Ha-gyeong attempted to distance herself professionally but was denied a project transfer. Despite the emotional turmoil, the pair must collaborate on converting Patan High School into an observatory, forcing them into daily proximity that rekindles their complicated history.

The episodes closed with Ha-gyeong reluctantly agreeing to let Do-ha stay until the project ends, while he promises to change her perception of him before summer concludes.

Episodes 5-6 Preview: Love Triangle Intensifies

The Cohabitation Agreement
Previews show Do-ha presenting Ha-gyeong with a cohabitation agreement, pushing them into shared living quarters. Their daily routines and familiar bickering begin rebuilding the connection they once shared—but the past isn’t easily forgotten.

Yoon So-hee Enters the Picture
Just as Ha-gyeong and Do-ha find their rhythm, Yoon So-hee boldly confesses her feelings for Do-ha. This love triangle threatens to destabilize Ha-gyeong’s fragile emotions and tests whether she’s truly ready to forgive Do-ha’s deception.

Seo Su-hyeok’s Growing Interest
The lawyer who’s been quietly present in Ha-gyeong’s life appears to be developing deeper feelings. His observatory visits and late-night office encounters with Ha-gyeong suggest he might become a genuine rival for Do-ha’s affections.

The Observatory Project
Council approvals, construction challenges, and professional conflicts will keep Ha-gyeong and Do-ha working closely together. The Patan High School transformation serves as both their professional obligation and emotional battleground.

Do-yeong’s Disappearance Mystery
The show has only scratched the surface of how Do-yeong died and why he vanished. Episodes 5-6 may reveal crucial details about the camera filled with constellation photos and what led to his tragic end.

Why Last Summer Resonates with Fans

Lee Jae-wook’s nuanced portrayal of twin brothers with distinct personalities showcases his acting range, while Choi Sung-eun brings vulnerability to Ha-gyeong’s grief-stricken journey. The series masterfully blends childhood nostalgia with adult heartbreak, creating a K-drama that feels authentic rather than melodramatic.

The Peanut House, stargazing sequences, and summer’s fleeting nature create poignant symbolism about love, loss, and second chances that international audiences have embraced.
