Location 1: Dam Battlegrounds Bunker

Head to the northern section of Dam Battlegrounds and locate the underground bunker facility. The generator is usually found in the basement level—look for the mechanical room with a large diesel generator unit.

Pro tip: Clear the area of ARC scouts first before activating. The generator makes noise when starting up, potentially attracting nearby enemies and players.

Approach the generator, hold the interact button, and wait for the activation sequence. Once complete, that’s one down!

Location 2: Spaceport Power Room

Navigate to the Spaceport’s main terminal building—the power room is typically located on the lower floors near maintenance corridors. Look for electrical warning signs and hazard tape marking the entrance.

This is the most dangerous location due to heavy player traffic and ARC presence near launch pads. The power switch itself is clearly marked with a red emergency panel. Flip the switch quickly and extract before reinforcements arrive.

Location 3: Buried City Substation

The Buried City substation is located on the eastern side of the map, often near industrial zones. Look for a small building with transformer equipment outside—this marks the electrical substation.

Inside, you’ll find the main power panel. Restore power by interacting with the circuit breaker panel. Watch for ambushes here, as the confined space makes it easy for other Raiders to trap you inside.

Smart Completion Strategy

✅ Bring a free loadout to minimize risk during high-traffic areas
✅ Scout first, activate second—clear enemies before touching objectives
✅ Use Safe Pockets for any valuable loot you find along the way
✅ Team up—squadmates can watch your back during activation animations
✅ Extract immediately after completing each objective to avoid losing progress

Quest Rewards Worth Your Time

Completing Sparks Fly rewards you with an ARC Scanner (essential for detecting enemy positions), credits for upgrades, and increased reputation with Lance. This unlocks higher-tier quests and better vendor inventory, making it worth the risk.

The ARC Scanner alone makes this quest valuable—it’s one of the best detection tools for avoiding ambushes in future expeditions.

Avoiding Common Mistakes

Don’t rush to objectives without scouting. Many players fail by running straight to generators only to get ambushed mid-activation. Take 30 seconds to clear the area—it saves you from losing everything.

Also, remember that activation sequences can’t be cancelled once started, so commit only when you’re confident the area is secure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can I complete all three objectives in one expedition?

No, unfortunately not. Each objective is located on a different map (Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, and Buried City), requiring three separate expeditions to complete the quest. However, you can tackle them in any order you prefer. Many players recommend starting with Dam Battlegrounds since it’s generally less contested than Spaceport.

Q2: What happens if I die before extracting after activating a generator?

Good news—your quest progress is saved immediately upon activating each power source, even if you die before extracting. You won’t need to redo completed objectives. However, you’ll lose any loot you collected during that expedition if you don’t make it to an extraction point, so consider extracting right after completing each objective to be safe.
