Rupture agents revolutionized Zenless Zone Zero‘s meta when they debuted in version 2.0 with Yixuan’s release. This unique specialty type introduced Sheer Force damage scaling, HP-based mechanics, and parry-focused gameplay that rewards skilled players. With Yidhari arriving in version 2.3 and Banyue leaked for 2.4, understanding Rupture agents and their optimal support combinations becomes essential for endgame success.

What Makes Rupture Agents Unique in Zenless Zone Zero?

Rupture agents share distinctive characteristics that set them apart from traditional DPS units:

Core Mechanic	Description
Sheer Force Damage	Unique damage attribute exclusive to Rupture agents
HP Scaling	Damage output increases based on maximum HP
Parry-Based Combat	Defensive mechanics reward perfect timing
HP Consumption	Agents spend HP to activate powerful abilities
Survivability Focus	Essential for endgame content where longevity matters

Strategic Advantage: Rupture agents excel in sustained encounters where traditional glass-cannon DPS units struggle with survivability. Their HP-scaling mechanics encourage building tanky teams that outlast opponents.

Manato represents the best F2P Rupture option, making this specialty accessible to new players. His “Molten Edge” state grants free CRIT Rate and Fire DMG bonuses for Assists and Basic Attacks.

HP Dependency: Like all Rupture agents, his damage scales directly with HP, rewarding defensive builds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is It Worth Pulling for Rupture Agents as a New Player?

Yes, Rupture agents are excellent for new players, especially with Komano Manato being an accessible A-rank option. The specialty’s HP-scaling mechanics and survivability focus make it more forgiving than traditional DPS builds that require perfect dodging. Manato paired with the free Pan Yinhu support creates a competitive F2P team capable of clearing endgame content. If you have resources, investing in Yixuan or Yidhari alongside Lucia creates a future-proof team that will remain meta-relevant as HoYoverse expands the Rupture roster.

Do I Need Lucia to Make Rupture Agents Viable?

While Lucia is the best-in-slot support for Rupture agents, she’s not mandatory for viability. Pan Yinhu (A-rank) provides strong Sheer Force buffs and healing, making him an excellent F2P alternative. Astra Yao also works well by offering CRIT DMG buffs and HP/energy recovery. Lucia significantly optimizes Rupture team performance—especially at higher Mindscape Cinema levels—but budget alternatives can clear all content with proper investment in Drive Discs and W-Engines. Start with F2P supports and pull for Lucia when she reruns if you commit to Rupture teams long-term.
