Amazon has launched its next-generation Echo lineup featuring Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11—all designed specifically for Alexa+, the company’s advanced AI assistant. The devices introduce custom AZ3 and AZ3 Pro silicon chips with AI Accelerators, Omnisense ambient sensor platform, and significantly improved audio performance across the range.

The new Echo devices feature custom-designed silicon chips enabling edge AI models. Echo Dot Max uses AZ3 to improve conversation detection, filter background noise, and enhance wake-word recognition by over 50%. Echo Studio and Echo Show models include AZ3 Pro, extending audio capabilities while supporting advanced language models and vision transformers.

Omnisense: Ambient AI Sensor Platform

Built on the custom silicon, Omnisense uses multiple sensors including the 13MP camera (on Echo Show devices), audio, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, accelerometer, and Wi-Fi CSI. This allows Alexa+ to respond to contextual events, such as sending reminders when specific people enter a room or alerts if the garage door is unlocked after certain times.

Echo Dot Max: Triple the Bass Performance

The Echo Dot Max delivers nearly three times the bass of the Echo Dot (5th Gen) and automatically adapts sound to room acoustics. The redesigned Echo Studio is 40% smaller than its predecessor while maintaining premium audio quality. It features a high-excursion woofer and three full-range drivers for immersive sound with spatial audio and Dolby Atmos support. The spherical design uses 3D-knit fabric for acoustic transparency, while a visual understanding model integrates with the light ring for enhanced interactions.

Users can connect up to five Echo Studio or Echo Dot Max devices to compatible Fire TV sticks for surround sound, with Alexa Home Theater automatically configuring and tuning the system.

Echo Show 8 & 11: Smart Home Command Centers

The new Echo Show models feature in-cell touch with negative liquid crystal displays for improved viewing angles and clarity. The 13MP camera recognizes users and provides personalized responses. Built-in smart home hubs support Zigbee, Matter, and Thread protocols.
