Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra vs Xiaomi Mi 11: Which one is better?

2021 started with a bang for the people who admire smartphones. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G was announced yesterday. You can read about it here. Today we discuss the battle between Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and Xiaomi’s Mi 11. Who do you think will come out on top? Let’s discover.

Display

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra hosts dynamic AMOLED display type in comparison to Mi 11’s AMOLED display. Dynamic AMOLED comes with an added HDR10+ support and has eye comfort certification from TUV Rheinland. Both smartphones have the same aspect ratio of 20:9 and display resolution of 1440×3200. They come with the same display protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and the same PPI density of 515. Thus, there is not much to separate the two smartphones on this aspect.

Camera

In terms of optics, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra consists of a 12MP Ultra-wide sensor, a 108MP wide-angle sensor, and two 10MP telephoto zoom lenses. Apart from this, they also have Laser Auto-Focus. On the other hand, Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with a 108-megapixel primary sensor with a 13-megapixel secondary sensor (ultrawide) and a 5-megapixel tertiary camera sensor. Both of the camera videos offer 8K@24/30 fps. The selfie camera of Galaxy S21 Ultra looks better than Mi 11 as it has a 40MP camera instead of the latter’s 20MP camera.

Processor

Both smartphones have equal CPU and GPU configurations, which are 1.80 GHz Octa-core and Adreno 660. Hence, we cannot name a distinct winner. The main point of this battle is that both Galaxy S21 Ultra and Mi 11 are powered by Qualcomm’s latest SoC, Snapdragon 888. Hence, smartphones are very similar when it comes to judging on the Processor aspect.

Storage

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has better RAM than Xiaomi Mi 11. The former comes with 12GB and 16GB options compared to the latter’s 8GB and 12GB options. Mi 11 offers only two storage variants of 128GB and 256GB. Galaxy S21 Ultra gives your three options 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Also, Samsung has an external SD card slot, which is missing in Mi 11. Thus, Samsung’s latest device wins this aspect, as well.

Battery

Xiaomi’s Mi 11 comes with a 4600 mAh battery pack and is paired with a 55W fast charging support. Samsung is powered with Li-Po 5000 mAh battery pack which is better than that of Mi 11, though it is supported by a lesser 25W fast charging support.

Price

Mi 11 comes in three price variants $611 (8GB + 128GB), $657 (8GB + 256GB) and $718(12GB + 256 GB). On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is priced at $1299. Thus, Xiaomi Mi 11 will suit more to price conservative customers.

Conclusion

There’s not much to separate between the two smartphones based on processor and display aspect. But Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra does have an edge when it comes to Battery, storage and camera features. If you have a high budget, you can choose the Samsung’s latest device. Both the smartphones are run by Snapdragon 888.

Thus, both of them will have good operational efficiency. Do make your own judgment before coming to a final conclusion and choosing a device. That’s the most important part.
