Jadon Sancho had an agreement to join Manchester United this past summer, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano and Francesco Porzio on their Here We Go podcast on Patreon. The Premier League club had multiple bids rejected in 2020, as they failed to reach Dortmund’s €100+ million evaluation of the English wonderkid.
Speaking on the topic recently, Dortmund CEO Joachim Watzke said:
“Maybe Jadon had subconsciously prepared a little for a transfer. I believe he at least thought about it enough that he lost a bit of his ease. But for weeks now, I have found him to be trying very hard. I think he needs two, three successful games in a row, then things will quickly start looking up again. He still is one of the greatest talents there is.”
Sancho only recently opened his scoring account in the Bundesliga this season after finding the back of the net against Wolfsburg. The youngster has been struggling since the beginning of the campaign, appearing to be a shadow of his former self, that managed to provide double digits in terms of goals and assists at the end of the campaign.
At 20, Sancho still has a long way to go, and he has all the tools to make it to the very top. All he has to do right now is get back to his best. No clubs will be going in for the player right now, in the January transfer window.
But when the season ends and the summer transfer window is open for business, the race for the winger will be on, with many top clubs across the continent wanting to sign the winger.
