Xbox Opens ‘Stream Your Own Game’ Feature on PC App

Microsoft has finally brought the ‘Stream Your Own Game’ feature to the Xbox PC app, expanding cloud gaming accessibility after its successful Xbox console debut in November 2024.

What is ‘Stream Your Own Game’?

This innovative feature allows gamers to stream their personally owned games through Xbox Cloud Gaming, eliminating the need for local downloads or installations. The service integrates seamlessly with the Xbox PC app, requiring only a Game Pass Ultimate subscription and availability in the 28 supported Xbox Cloud Gaming regions.

Massive Game Library Available

The feature supports over 250 games, including major AAA titles and indie favorites. Notable games include:

• Popular Titles: Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3, Final Fantasy XVI, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.
• Recent Releases: Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Star Wars Outlaws, and NBA 2K25.

The diverse catalog spans action RPGs, shooters, strategy games, and indie experiences, ensuring something for every gaming preference.

Enhanced PC App Features

Beyond streaming capabilities, Microsoft has upgraded the Xbox PC app with several user-friendly additions:

• Cross-device play history tracking console and PC gaming sessions
• Progress rewards system that monitors achievement earning
• Insider program integration for early feature access

These improvements create a more cohesive Xbox ecosystem experience across devices.

Why This Matters for PC Gamers

The PC app expansion represents Microsoft’s commitment to breaking down hardware barriers. Gamers can now:

• Access high-end games on lower-spec PCs
• Play anywhere with stable internet connection
• Reduce storage requirements significantly
• Switch seamlessly between devices

This strategic move positions Xbox Cloud Gaming as a serious competitor to services like GeForce Now and Amazon Luna, while leveraging Microsoft’s existing Game Pass ecosystem.
