There have been many unreal stats from the match and here we will take a look at the best 9 stats from the historic match.

9 stats from Liverpool’s record-equalling 9-0 win against Bournemouth

  • Liverpool became the 4th team to win by a 9-0 margin in the Premier League, which is the biggest winning margin in history. The record was first set when Manchester United hammered Ipswich Town 9-0 in 1995 and then equalled by Leicester City and Manchester United, who both beat Southampton 9-0, in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
  • It was Liverpool’s biggest winning margin in a Premier League game. Their previous record was a 7-0 win over Crystal Palace in 2020.
  • It was also Liverpool’s biggest winning margin in all league football since the club’s foundation. The other time they won by nine was a 10-1 victory over Rotherham Town in the Second Division in the 1898-99 campaign.
  • Roberto Firmino provided three assists in the game. He is the only Liverpool player to get a hat trick of assists hat-trick and equalled his own record when he set up three goals against Southampton in February 2020.
  • Liverpool are now unbeaten in their last 110 Premier League games in which they’ve been leading at half-time.
  • Liverpool’s home record since losing to Scott Parker’s Fulham at Anfield in March 2021: WDWWWDWDDWWWWWWWWWWWWDWDW. And now Liverpool thrashed Scott Parker’s Bournemouth.
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold scored once, made 32 final-third passes, completed 9 long balls and 6 crosses, made 3 key passes and had a total of 123 touches. He was almost everywhere on the field.
  • Liverpool created 4.86 expected goals (xG) to Bournemouth’s 0.18. This is the highest xG recorded by a Premier League team so far this season. The next best is the 3.67 recorded by Manchester City against Newcastle United.
  • Mohamed Salah got zero goals or assists in the game, despite Liverpool scoring 9 times. He also got the lowest WhoScored rating of his Premier League career, 5.89.
