A Dream Realized: Landing Her First TV Role

9-1-1

In the 9-1-1: Nashville pilot that aired October 9, 2025, Tate played Julie, a young woman in a wheelchair who experiences a heartwarming moment with stripper Blue Bennings (Hunter McVey) after being bullied by another patron. The scene beautifully reflected Isabelle’s real-life courage and spirit.

Living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease

Tate had been diagnosed with a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth, a progressive neuromuscular disease that causes lifelong, progressive muscle weakness and atrophy in the arms and legs, along with sensory loss.

In 2022, Isabelle opened up about her journey, sharing: “Recently, it’s really progressed and I’ve come to terms that if I want to live my life to the fullest I need to use a wheelchair at time. This has been a difficult journey for me because having to accept help and surrender to the progression of this condition has been extremely hard”.

Despite these challenges, her family described her as “full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others”.

A Life Full of Passion and Purpose

Beyond acting, Isabelle graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with an undergraduate degree in business. She was musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends, and loved volunteering her time to animals, with visits to animal shelters being her idea of a fun outing.

Her co-star Hunter McVey remembered her warmly, stating: “She had such a great energy. You could tell she brought joy to a lot of people. I’m thankful I got a chance to work with Isabelle and that a part of her will live on forever in the pilot episode of 9-1-1 Nashville”.

Honoring Her Memory

ABC will honor Isabelle with an in-memoriam end card in an upcoming episode of 9-1-1: Nashville. Her family requests that donations be made to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association in lieu of flowers to support research and awareness for this rare condition.

Isabelle is survived by her mother Katerina Kazakos Tate, stepfather Vishnu Jayamohan, father John Daniel Tate, and sister Daniella.
