88+ Mid or FIFA World Cup Icon Upgrade SBC FIFA 23

The World Cup promo was one of the longest events in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. After the end of the World Cup, EA Sports launched the Winter Wildcards promo which contained two teams. And now currently the FUT Centurions promo is going on.

Along with all the promos, EA Sports are also giving Icon SBCs. They have released the 88+ Mid or FIFA World Cup Icon Upgrade SBC. It requires 2 squads.

Is the 88+ Mid or FIFA World Cup Icon Upgrade SBC worth doing?

The main dilemma regarding this 87+ Base or Mid Icon Upgrade SBC is whether you will get a good icon as this is not a player pick that you can choose from. If you manage to pack the Base or Mid version of Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Zidane, Cantona, Ronaldinho, Gullit, Cruyff, Daglish, etc it can be great for your FUT team. But in other cases, the value of your packed icon can also be less than the cost of the SBC.

My pack luck wasn’t that great and I managed to get 88-rated Mid Icon CDM Marcel Desailly from the pack. The card is priced at around 350,000 FUT coins, so at least it was greater than the cost of the SBC.

I immediately changed the 88-rated Mid Icon CDM Marcel Desailly into a CB so that it fits into my team. Also, I feel his stats are better suited to be a defender. It has a high defensive work rate and a medium attacking work rate which is good for a defender. It also has below average 2* skill move and 3* weak foot.

The pace, defending and strength of this card is excellent and it also belongs to French nationality which gives it an added advantage.

The 88-rated Mid Icon Marcel Desailly got straight into my team as CB and he has been rock solid at the back in FUT Champions matches. So, maybe I haven’t got the best Icon out of the pack, but Desailly hasn’t been too bad either.

If you have enough fodder or FUT coins, then you should definitely try doing this 88+ Mid or FIFA World Cup Icon Upgrade SBC.
