The AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G is a 6 core and 12 threaded APU clocked at 3.7 GHz base with 4.3 GHz boost frequencies and has 6 MB of L3 cache with TDP of 65W. On the iGPU front, there’s the Vega 7 integrated graphics which support 448 cores running at a clock speed of up to 1900 MHz. The APU should cost in the $249 price mark.

On the other hand, the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G is a 4 core, 8 threaded APU clocked at 3.8 GHz base with 4.1 GHz boost frequencies and comes with 4 MB L3 cache and 65W TDP. As for the GPU, it comes with Vega 6 integrated graphics which support 384 cores running at a clock speed of up to 1700 MHz. This APU should cost in the $149 price mark.

Both of the APUs were tested on the ASUS PRIME B550M-A motherboard with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory. The 6 core AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G shines with 1184 points in single-core while its 12 threads helping to score 6994 points in multi-core tests. These scores are almost similar to the Ryzen 5 3600X which scores just 100 points more than the Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G scores in the single-core tests while around 500 points more than the same chip scores in multi-core tests.

On the other hand, the quad-core Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G scores 1137 points in single-core and 4954 points in multi-core benchmarks. The scores make this new APU on par with this year’s Ryzen 3 3300X in terms of raw CPU performance which scores just 100 points than the Ryzen 3 PRO 4350G in the single-core tests while around 300 points more than the same chip scores in multi-core tests.

This is what is expected from a next-gen APU with Zen 2 architecture that should give a major bump in performance due to the new architecture and improvements. Soon, AMD is supposed to launch these Renoir desktop APUs which a large number of gamers and enthusiasts have been waiting for.
