## What Made CodeVita 2026 Historic

Beyond the record-breaking participation of nearly 1.47 lakh coders, this season introduced a landmark new format: a **Human-AI collaboration mini-competition** for the 30 finalists, where participants used frontier [AI](https://technosports.co.in/?s=AI) models — including ChatGPT, Claude Sonnet, and Gemini — to solve complex programming problems.

TCS used this to study in real time how humans leverage AI as a validator, collaborator, or outsourcing partner — a fascinating data point as the industry grapples with AI’s role in software development. Another milestone: **six Indian women finalists** made the global top 30 — the highest representation of women across all 13 editions.

The competition itself is a six-hour open-book challenge with real-world problems that escalate in complexity across rounds, with only the top 30 advancing to the final. Historically a pipeline to TCS careers, selected finalists earn internship opportunities with TCS Research and Innovation.
