2025’s First No More Room in Hell 2 Update Adds Firefighter Zombies

Torn Banner Studios kicks off 2025 with a thrilling start by releasing the first free update for No More Room in Hell 2. The first big update for the co-op horror shooter is out now, bringing plenty of new gameplay features, improvements, reworks, and bug fixes for the early-access game that launched at the end of October 2024. Further, as the 0.2.4 update is aimed at a deeper, more intense experience according to its developers, check out its bloody action in the new montage.

However, the highlight of the update is the new Firefighter Zombie. Dressed in a firefighter uniform and wearing an oxygen tank, these zombies can blow up when damaged. Although the explosion will not damage players, it can be strategically used to kill enemies close by. Fans will also be glad to see caliber ammunition returns, a much-requested feature.

You have so many different types of ammo you can now choose from, but you can only carry so much in your inventory, so what you pick makes a difference. This introduces an element of strategy, forcing players to choose between tight survival tactics. The Runner zombies also got a rework. Now they move and attack more variably, but they are more infrequent, based on community feedback. That makes them a much greater threat when they do manifest, as players will have time to get ready and manage them in the excitement.

New Responder skills have also been introduced, including “Immunity” to reduce infection chances, “Outdoor Champion” to mitigate environmental damage, and “Builder” to increase barricade stacking efficiency. In addition to these exciting new features, the update also focuses on bug fixes to improve stability, such as improved climbing mechanics, better zombie visuals, and infinite ammo exploits.
