Kia India, the country’s fifth largest carmaker in April 2024 sales, is updating its complete range to stay competitive against the likes of Maruti as well as Hyundai, Tata, and Mahindra. Kia has teased the 2025 Carens facelift that will soon join the facelifted versions of the Seltos and Sonet on the market.
The 2025 Kia Carens
Its facelift, shown here in spy shots released yesterday, applies these changes and more all around the body of the current Carens, which is expected to remain powered by a full lineup of current engines. These updates could be in the form of new body panels, split headlamps showing LED DRLs, and new tail lamps and could feature a connected LED light bar mimicking the current updated Seltos and Sonet models.
Likely exterior updates include new bumpers, alloy wheels, unique body creases, shark fin antenna, parking sensors, and roof rails. Inside, the Carens facelift is anticipated to adopt features from the refreshed Seltos, maintaining its 6 and 7-seater configurations with upgrades to seat materials and dashboard design. Interior improvements are likely to include ventilated seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and connectivity options such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
It will also bring several safety enhancements across the range, with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) being part of the mix, perhaps with Level 2 features like in the Seltos. The aim of these updates is to make the driving experience that much more enjoyable (as well as more comfortable and technologically up-to-date) and bring the Carens into fresh line with the class leaders.
Expect the facelifted Carens to soldier on with the same engine lineup as available currently: 1.5-litre petrol with 115 hp manual, 1.5-liter turbo petrol with 160 hp (dual-clutch 7-speed and iMT), and 1.5-litre diesel with 116 hp (6-speed manual and auto). Finally, a Carens EV is coming in 2025.
While pricing details remain undisclosed, the enhanced features suggest that the new Carens facelift will likely be positioned at a higher price point than the current range of ₹10.52 – 19.67 lakh (ex-showroom). More specifics on pricing will be disclosed closer to its anticipated early 2025 release. These updates underscore Kia’s commitment to offering a compelling vehicle in the competitive MPV market, targeting consumers seeking style, performance, and advanced features.
