Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has been on an update spree of late — after launching the updated Activa 125 earlier this month, it is now back with the updated 2025 Honda SP125 commuter motorcycle, tweaked to meet upcoming OBD2B regulations. Brimming with contemporary features, curve styling, and solid specifications, it’s the SP125 that will reshape the 125cc segment. The fuel-injected version of the SP125 comes at a starting price of ₹91,771 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The SP125 and its sibling Shine 125 is a major players in the 125cc motorcycle space, as both these bikes together sell over 1.5 lakh units per month, making it the best-selling motorcycle in the segment. The SP125 was designed to offer comfort and utility making it a viable option for everyday commuting.

With a length of 2020 mm, a width of 785 mm, and a height of 1103 mm, the SP125 has a compact but balanced silhouette. Designed to maintain stability, the SP125 features a wheelbase of 1285 mm and a ground clearance of 160 mm. Seat height is 790 mm which is comfortable and accessible for taller and shorter riders, and the kerb weight of 116 kg helps keep the bike light and manageable. Furthermore, the fuel tank capacity of 11.2 liters ensures long rides without a need for regular fueling.

The 2025 SP125 is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine, producing 8 kW of power at 7500 rpm and 10.9 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It also complies with OBD2B emission standards and has an idling stop system to boost fuel economy, tailoring it for urban riding. It gets tubeless tires, 240mm disc/130mm drum brakes up front, and a 130mm drum at the rear. This 5-speed transmission is equipped with a multi-plate wet clutch for smooth shifting.

A slew of design updates is present on the SP125, including an all-LED headlamp and taillamp, aggressive tank shrouds, a chrome muffler cover, as well as a new 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and voice assist through the Honda RoadSync app. A USB Type-C charging port makes it easier to charge devices while on the go, too. The 2025 SP125 is available in two variants: the Drum variant priced at ₹91,771 and the Disc variant priced at ₹1,00,284 (both ex-showroom). It comes in five attractive colors: Pearl Igneous Black, Matt Axis Grey Metallic, Pearl Siren Blue, Imperial Red Metallic, and Matt Marvel Blue Metallic.
