The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 further showcases its improved R&D prowess as the Himalayan had evolved from very rudimentary machines to what is the most feature-rich motorcycle in its segment. This evolution is set to be embodied by the upcoming Guerrilla 450. Unlike the Himalayan 450, the Guerrilla 450 is likely to be a street naked or roadster version, but it will solve the limitations of the Himalayan 450 and promise a smoother ride on the table.
The Upcoming Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450
So, the introduction of the Guerrilla 450 could be just around the corner and the upcoming adventure tourer is expected to be cheaper than the Himalayan 450 which is priced close to ₹4 lakhs (OTR, Karnataka) As per multiple spy images and test mules spotted, a render by Pratyush Rout showcases a slightly more desirable, slender, and dynamic Himalayan 450, compared to the Guerrilla 450.
Important features include a new fuel tank, Guerrilla 450 branding, a scooped-out seat for lower seat height, a shorter seat, a cleaner tail section, and a headlight fixed to the handlebar with a stylish cowl. Add to this mix, RSU telescopic forks, black fork gaiters, a smaller 17-inch alloy wheel wrapped in tubeless tires, an all-LED headlamp, integrated rear LED tail lights, round ORVMs, and a conventional front fender. The same TFT Tripper Dash is likely to appear, with any previous bugs hopefully sorted.
With the new Sherpa 450 engine being developed by the manufacturer, a single-cylinder 450cc engine will get a DOHC 4V head, liquid cooling, a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, ride-by-wire, and many more modern tech included. It will deliver 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque.
Due to the omission of some touring-friendly features and expensive components, the Guerrilla 450 is expected to be lighter and cheaper than the Himalayan 450, with a curb weight of around 180 kg and a price of about ₹2.5 lakh (Ex-showroom). Competitors at this price point include the Triumph Speed 400, Yezdi Roadster, Harley-Davidson X440, Hero Maverick 440, KTM 390 Duke, and the recently launched Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z.
