Kia is gearing up for the imminent global debut of the refreshed Sonet, set to take place today, December 14th. Anticipating the launch, an online leak of the brochure by Automobile Tamilan has unveiled new details, shedding light on the Sonet’s enhanced styling and features.

The forthcoming Sonet facelift introduces significant safety upgrades, incorporating a 360° camera and a blind view monitor in the cluster. Notably, it becomes the second sub-4m SUV to feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Level 1, with a comprehensive suite of 10 autonomous functions. This comes as a notable addition following the introduction of ADAS in the Hyundai Venue earlier this year in September.
The ADAS kit on the Sonet facelift encompasses forward collision warning and avoidance assist, lane keeps assist, lane following assist, lane departure warning, high beam assist, driver attention warning, and leading vehicle departure alert.
Standard safety features include front, side, and curtain airbags, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill start assist control, rearview camera with guidelines, and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Sonet facelift boasts an impressive equipment list, featuring a 4-way power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch LCD instrument console, a Bose Premium sound system with 7 speakers, a Smart pure air purifier, an electric sunroof, and Alexa voice commands. Interior customization is offered through three distinct color and seat patterns for the Tech Line, and one each for the GT Line and X Line.
Externally, the Sonet facelift undergoes refreshing changes, including alterations to the headlamps, DRLs, bumper, and a new alloy wheel design. The rear sees updated tail lamps, a full-width LED lighting element, and a refreshed bumper. A new Pewter Olive color option adds to the existing palette, resulting in a total of 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone color choices, enhancing the vehicle’s visual appeal and street presence.
The Sonet facelift maintains its trims – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line, and retains the same engine options. The 1.2-liter NA petrol engine with 82 bhp and 115 Nm comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine produces 118 bhp and 172 Nm, with transmission options of 6iMT and 7DCT.
The 1.5-liter diesel engine generates 114 bhp and 250 Nm, offering transmission choices of 6iMT, 6AT, and the return of the 6-speed manual gearbox. Traction modes like Sand, Mud, and Wet, along with drive modes such as Normal, Eco, and Sports, are exclusive to automatic variants, which also come equipped with paddle shifters. The official launch and pricing details for the new Sonet are expected to be unveiled next month.
