2024 Kia Carnival Launched in India: Luxury Redefined at ₹63.9 Lakh

Kia has launched two new luxury vehicles to mark the festive season, with both the 2024 Carnival and EV9 being revealed in India. The 2024 Kia Carnival is priced at ₹63.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and it is brought to India as Completely Built Unit (CBU). Kia dealerships in India have started accepting bookings for the Carnival with an initial deposit of ₹1 lakh which is fully refundable on cancellation.

With the third-generation Carnival being discontinued in India, Kia has commenced sales of the new fourth-gen model and it is offered in one high-spec variant. The Carnival will sit between the Toyota Innova Crysta and the more expensive Toyota Vellfire being a segment of one offering no direct competitors.

The 2024 Carnival features Kia’s modern design language, reflecting global market trends. It boasts a larger tiger nose grille, new front bumper, vertically stacked LED headlights with L-shaped daytime running lights (DRLs) and connected LED tail-lamps over the outgoing or pre-facelift model It also features dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels, repositioning of the number plate recess and a wraparound rear spoiler.

The 2024 Kia Carnival prioritizes the comfort of the driver and passengers inside with a dual-screen layout featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment system which supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, multi-zone automatic climate control, and head-up display. Other highlights include two sunroofs, ambient lighting, and an updated digital key with fingerprint recognition. With its ample roominess that will be well-suited for big families or people who prefer to travel with a driver, it has some key highlights like one-touch sliding rear doors as well as second-row ventilated seats.

The new Kia Carnival comes with a plethora of safety tech including 360-degree camera, multiple airbags as well Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It offers active safety features such as forward collision-avoidance assist, cornering brake control, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, evasive steering assist, highway driving assist and intelligent speed limit assist.

While the global Kia Carnival offers two engine options—a 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid and a 3.5L V6 petrol engine—the India-spec model is exclusively powered by a 2.2L turbo diesel engine, which also powered the previous generation sold in the country. This diesel engine produces 201 hp and 440 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. At ₹63.9 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2024 Kia Carnival strikes a balance between luxury and affordability, occupying a unique niche in its segment without significant competition.
