Manchester United worried about Sir Jim Ratcliffe not meeting £6bn price tag

Sir Jim Ratcliffe might not be willing to meet Manchester United’s price tag of £6 billion. The British billionaire is the only party that has publicly come forth and confirmed their interest to purchase the club from the Glazers.

However, the price tag might be considered too high for Britain’s richest man. He has supported Manchester United since his boyhood days, and his running to take over the club was met with mixed reactions.

Manchester United worried that Sir Jim Ratcliffe will not bid for the club

Ineos, the company owned by Ratcliffe, has a negative impact on the environment. And this has resulted in the environmental organisation, Greenpeace, to ask the club not to consider his bid.

There has also been interest from Asia, the US and the Middle East to take over Manchester United from the Glazers. However, the bidding war has not quite begun yet.

The prospect of owning one of the most popular clubs in the world will appeal to the rich all across the globe. But no matter who inherits the club from the Glazers, they will have a lot of expectations to meet considering the negative sentiment that runs among the United faithful about the current overlords.

Under Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United have been able to revive their form on the pitch. But, work needs to be done on the maintenance of Old Trafford, and improving the sustainability of the club as well.
