Gyamar Nikum to join Mumbai City FC from Rajasthan United on a record fee

Mumbai City FC have agreed a deal to sign Gyamar Nikum from Rajasthan United. He is now the youngest player to join the ISL, and is the first player from Arunachal Pradesh to play in the competition.

According to reports, City are paying a record fee for an 18-year-old to bring him over to their camp. The contracts have all been agreed between the parties involved, and only the medical needs to be completed for the switch to be finalised.

Gyamar Nikum to join Mumbai City FC as a record signing

The midfielder was one of the youngest players to ever debut in the I-League, at the age of 16 years and 359 days against Madan Maharaj on October 20, 2021.

He attracted a significant amount of attention in Rajasthan United’s win against ATK Mohun Bagan in the Durand Cup. The youngster scored the winning goal in the 3-2 victory to stun the ISL club in front of their home fans, in their Group B fixture. And now, he is set to join one of the biggest clubs in the division in the coming days.

Gyamar Nikum mostly plays out on the right, and is a pacey and skillful winger. He has the confidence to take on his opponent and beat them, and can be a very smooth operator for the Islanders in the coming years as he becomes more experienced.
