New Apple MacBook with a 3nm Chip coming in 2023?

According to a rumor from the Taiwanese website DigiTimes today, Apple intends to manufacture a new MacBook Air in the latter part of 2023, and it might use a 3nm Chipset.

It is anticipated that this chip will be Apple’s next-generation M3, which will perform better and use less power than Apple’s existing 5nm CPUs. The source doesn’t give the MacBook Air any extra information or a more precise debut date.

New Apple MacBook with a 3nm Chip coming in 2023!?

In late December, TSMC, Apple’s chip manufacturing partner, started mass-producing 3nm chips. Along with the A17 Bionic chip in the iPhone 15 devices later this year, the M3 chip in the next-generation MacBook Air may be among Apple’s first 3nm CPUs.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, stated earlier this week that the 3nm M3 Pro and M3 Max CPUs will also be updated for the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models in 2024. This would follow a trend that Apple is accustomed to, as the M1 and M2 chips first appeared in the MacBook Air and eventually appeared in the MacBook Pro in their Pro and Max iterations.

With this report, there are a few things to keep in mind. First off, it should be noted that these are the same DigiTimes authors that incorrectly stated that the recently revealed 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and Max chipsets will be delayed past early 2023. A 15-inch MacBook Air will be delivered in the first half of 2023, according to display industry researcher Ross Young’s remark made last month.

If the information from today’s article is true, then maybe the 13 and 15-inch MacBook Airs with 3nm chipset will debut in the second half of 2023. With a brand-new design, a 1080p camera, MagSafe charging, a notch in the display, and other improvements, the most recent MacBook Air featuring the M2 CPU was unveiled in July. A MacBook Air with the M1 chip is still available for purchase from Apple.
