Mykhaylo Mudryk to complete €100m Chelsea transfer imminently

Chelsea have managed to successfully hijack Arsenal’s bid to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk. They have agreed a €100 million deal with the Ukrainian club for their man, and are hopeful of wrapping up the deal in the coming hours.

Not only has the transfer been given the here we go signal by Fabrizio Romano, but Chelsea have also released an official statement regarding their pursuit of the player. As a result, they are very close to making his arrival official.

Mykhaylo Mudryk all set to join Chelsea after snubbing Arsenal

“Chelsea are discussing terms with Shakhtar Donetsk for the transfer of Mykhaylo Mudryk,” the official statement on Chelsea’s website read.

“Should a deal be agreed between the two clubs then the Ukrainian international, who can operate as a winger or a forward, will discuss personal terms with the Blues ahead of a permanent transfer.”

Mudryk has arrived in London ahead of the switch to Stamford Bridge, and is undergoing his medical ahead of the move. Once he passes the examination, he is expected to sign a contract of seven years, until 2030, which will take care of the amortisation costs and make the deal legal in Financial Fair Play terms.

The 22-year-old was keen on joining Arsenal, and had agreed personal terms as well. Chelsea head coach Graham Potter got on a phone call with Mykhaylo Mudryk ahead of the bid, and was the vital part in convincing the player to join them – even before a bid was made.

Mudryk is expected to attend the game against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, after clearing his medicals. So, we probably won’t have to wait too long to see the Ukrainian at West London and it could be as soon as today.
