Cristiano Ronaldo has shocked the world when he signed for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. Everyone thought that Ronaldo would continue playing at the highest level in Europe after he gave the internet-breaking interview with Piers Morgan and later mutually terminated his contract with Manchester United.
However, the Portugal talisman has chosen to move to Asia and signed a record-breaking deal with Al Nassr. The veteran has signed a deal with the club until June 2025, which is the most valuable in the history of the sport. Along with commercial revenue, the Portugal captain will be earning a salary of €200 million per year at his new club.
REVEALED: A hidden clause in Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr can let him play in the Champions League again
Cristiano Ronaldo is often called “Mr Champions League” given his exploits in Europe’s top competition. He has the highest number of goals scored in the competition’s history with 140 goals in his name and has won the competition for 5 times. The only player who can surpass him in terms of goals is Lionel Messi, who has 129 goals and still playing in the UCL with PSG.
According to reports, there is a hidden clause in Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract. He will be once again playing in the UCL if this clause is met. Premier League club Newcastle United are owned by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. So, if Newcastle United, who are currently third in the Premier League, qualify for the UCL next season, Ronaldo will go to Newcastle United on loan.
So Cristiano Ronaldo’s European dream is still not over! He can come back to the Premier League and the UCL as soon as the summer of 2023.
