Avatar: The Way of Water, a 1st-day Box-office collection has broken many records. Avatar: The Way of Water follows the story of a moon called Pandora and the colonization that threatens the indigenous Na’vi humanoid race that inhabits it. The film has a running time of 190 minutes, or 3 hours and 10 minutes. This sequel seems to beat the previous sequel’s running time by 28 minutes.

The movie Avatar: The Way of Water has made a great start at the Indian box office. Avatar: The Way of Water was released on 16th December 2022 i.e. on Friday. On the opening day itself, i.e. on Friday, the movie collected approximately Rs 38-40 crore. This record-breaking collection of Rs 38-40 crore has beaten the opening-day collections of Avengers: Infinity War and Spider-Man: No Way Home. But the biggest Hollywood movie opener Avengers: Endgame still remains unbeaten.

The critics have recommended that the movie with Movie Mom’s Nell Minow calling it “more of an experience than a movie, but the experience is a fun place to visit.” The movie has great reviews from the critics just like the previous sequel. This new sequel to Avatar is also expected to exceed well in the coming weeks. However, one must also keep a note that recently, the price for a normal IMAX seat is also shooting up to ₹2500.

In the US, on Thursday itself the ticket amounted to $17 million before the day of its release. On Friday, in a statement by Disney, a solid but not spectacular start for one of the most expensive films in Hollywood history. The film generated an additional $50.4 million in international markets in its first two days

According to forecaster Boxoffice Pro, the movie Avatar: The Way of Water is expected to earn between $145 million and $179 million in US and Canadian theaters through Sunday, and hundreds of millions more globally. This movie is expected to be one of the biggest movies of the year and is also going to be a much-needed booster for cinemas and it is struggling to come back from the pandemic.

Avatar: The Way of Water will be among the widest releases in Disney history, debuting on over 12,000 screens in the US and Canada and 40,000 internationally. It’s being released at the same time globally in every country, a rarity in the business.
