After several delays, the trailer of Dungeons & Dragons has been released. The movie has got official announcements on Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves in a long time coming and finally. For the fans of the classic tabletop role-playing game and fans of fantasy in general with a great year.
Playing such an aristocratic but antagonistic rogue named Forge Fletcher is the perfectly cast Hugh Grant. Grant has played roguishly charming men in everything from Bridget Jones’s Diary to Paddington 2. He was recently in The Undoing, where he played a darker, but still charismatic character. We’re searching forward to watching his turn like a Forge Fletcher in Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves. Grant has noted that he was excited by the script due to one of the few he had been offered recently that made him laugh.
Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves: Plot
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is based on a team of thieves who have helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing. After fixing their mistakes and saving the world. The team contains Elgin, a bard, a planner of the group, Holga a barbarian, Xenk, a paladin, Simon, a sorcerer, and Doric, a tiefling druid. Star Chris Pine, who plays Elgin, and don’t worry D&D tabletop fans who are hoping to see classic D&D spells, tropes, and items, director and writer John Daley said the movie on having a ton of Easter eggs loaded in there.
A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves features many such biggest names in Hollywood.Along with Chris Pine playing Elgin, the bard, in one of the leading roles. At the time talking with Collider Pine said about the character like “the ultimate party planner.” Pine is known a Captain James Kirk in the recent Star Trek films. He also played Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman.
Michelle Rodriguez also features by playing a barbarian character named Holga. Rodriguez’s film and TV career contain by playing Ana on Lost and of course playing Letty in the Fast and Furious franchise.
Justice Smith, who audiences may recognize from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom or Detective Pikachu, will be playing a sorcerer named Simon. Smith has also played roles including Zeke in The Get Down, and Radar in Paper Towns.
Regé-Jean Page, yes, Simon Basset from Bridgerton, will play a paladin named Xenk. We can’t wait to find out what led a paladin to become a thief. Playing a tiefling druid named Doric is Sophia Lillis. Lillis was in Sharp Objects, It Chapter Two, and played Nancy Drew in 2019’s Nancy Drew and Hidden Staircase.
Jason Wong, known for his role in Jarhead 2 and ITV’s Strangers, plays Dallas. Daisy Head from the Netflix series Shadow and Bone and The horror film Wrong Turn also have a role, as does Chloe Coleman of Little Big Lies.
The film will also feature characters from the short-lived, but much-loved animated series. No word yet on who’ll play those characters. Largely it has filmed in Northern Ireland with some filming done in Iceland as well.
Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves: Trailer
After a short title reveal trailer was released back in April, fans have been impatiently awaiting a proper trailer. On July 21st their wishes were granted and the first full trailer for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was released. The trailer does a great job showing off the characters and world of the film. Set to Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” the trailer shows off both the action and comedy that the film promises to bring. And yes, someone did turn into an owlbear, and we’re pretty sure we spotted a mimic disguised as a chest as well.
The trailer’s stylish mix of action, comedy, and classic rock suggests this film may be a hit with fans of Guardians of the Galaxy.
A behind-the-scenes featurette for Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was released on December 5, 2022, timed with the film’s panel at CCXP, alongside the official poster for the film. The featurette gives us more footage and details on the story as well as the film’s villain played by the one and only Hugh Grant.
While more trailers may come out closer to the film’s release, we think this was a great first look with plenty for both casual audiences and Dungeons & Dragons diehards to get excited about.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves: Release Date
Primarily the film was set to be released on 3rd March 2023, it would have been unveiled against another major blockbuster in Creed III, but in November 2022, the film was pushed back to March 31, 2023, a date previously occupied by Paramount’s Scream 6.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has a release date of March 2023, so fans will have to wait a bit longer to see this action comedy for themselves, but new information on the film is being released regularly now and a more precise release date should be available soon. The film’s MPA rating and run time have not yet been released either.
